Official customization framing

The August 25, 2026 wishlist milestone post highlighted a Weapon Customization System with 25+ weapons and hundreds of weapon parts and attachments, letting players change stocks, magazines, optics, muzzle devices, grips, and other components. Steam store copy used across this wiki likewise advertises more than 25 firearms and melee weapons and more than 300 attachments.

This page is an overview hub companion to:

It does not publish DPS charts or “best optic” rankings.

What Early Access patches added

Update 0.8.0 (October 17, 2026):

  • Staged reloads and inspect animations for every gun
  • Firing mode HUD (example: SEMI · FMJ)
  • New loot system: container quality decides guns found; guns come with random parts
  • A gun missing a part it needs to fire shows in red
  • Compare action for item stats

Hotfix 0.8.8 (October 19, 2026):

  • Unload, Remove Sight, and Remove Muzzle work on guns in containers, stash, and corpses
  • Magazines remember ammo type on reload

Update 0.7.0 durability/repair pass changed how long platforms stay online between repairs — see crafting, repair, and medical blueprints.

How to evaluate a build without fake stats

Editorial checklist for your playtest log:

  1. Record game version and mode (Explorer / Returner / Iron Man).
  2. Note caliber and loaded ammo type (FMJ / AP / HP / shotgun loads).
  3. List installed parts by slot name shown in UI.
  4. Log jam frequency only with durability % visible.
  5. Compare using the in-game compare action when possible.
Named weapons appearing in notes (not a roster)

Notes have mentioned platforms such as the Thread Cutter (30-round magazine in 0.7.0) and Leon 1895 variants (damage buff in 0.6.2). Mentions are not a complete arsenal list and are not tier rankings.

Customization is only half of combat readiness. After 0.8.0, the round in the magazine can matter as much as the optic. Keep AP for heavily armored humans and treat HP as a mutant/unarmored tool per the ammo guide. For exploration loadouts into bunkers, see procedural bunkers and underground.
